Strategic Focus for Friday
Salvation / Forgiveness for a Lost World
“…open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God,
so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.”
Acts 26:18
We live in a wounded world. Look at the displays of cruelty, anger and violence… disgusting speech… disrespectful marches…destruction of lives and property… crimes of hate…suicides and the devaluation of life. Our world seems to be spinning “out of control”. We as Christians know there is only One answer…Jesus. He ALONE can heal, deliver, redeem and restore what was lost through our sin!
It all starts with repentance and forgiveness…both extended and received by us simultaneously! That’s the true change the world needs (even if we are unaware of it). Whether in the physical, emotional or spiritual realm, we have all spent lifetimes looking for TRUTH and LOVE …but, unhappily, discovered that we had been looking in the wrong places, as a result, were seduced, bound and crushed by dark forces that were intent on enslaving us. But, OUR DELIVERER has appeared…and if we seek HIM, He assures us that He will be found by us! Today, we pray that each of us will ask the right questions, seek Him with all our hearts and find our way to HIM. Let us focus on this gift of Salvation (Jesus) and the forgiveness He won for our lost and hurting world.
As we pray into and cry out Psalm 130 (written for God’s beloved Israel) we know that our gracious God wants NONE to perish. That is our prayer as well. Let NO ONE ELSE PERISH for a lack of knowing HIM, in Jesus’s Name.
Out of the depths I have cried to You, O Lord;
Lord, hear my voice! Let Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.
If You, Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand?
But there is forgiveness with You, That You may be feared.
I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
And in His word I do hope.
My soul waits for the Lord
More than those who watch for the morning –
Yes, more than those who watch for the morning.
O Israel, hope in the Lord;
For with the Lord there is mercy,
And with Him is abundant redemption.
And He shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
Psalm 130:1-8
As we pray into these four (4) scriptures below, let’s do so in light of these prayer points:
· Thank God for the Messianics in Israel calling the world to come and join them in Welcoming the King of Glory into Jerusalem October 9th-13th, 2017.
· Pray that all will welcome Him together, with clean hands and pure hearts, united as one in HIM.
· Pray for awakening and revival all over the world.
· Pray for the underground Church and for Christians in places where they are being persecuted…in China, well on its way to having the largest number of Christians on earth…in the Middle East, where parents are being slaughtered and babies beheaded…in Israel, where believers are moving in place as the “elder brother”, loving their nation to God!
· Finally, let us praise God that the US funding of abortion in other countries HAS ENDED… and that LIFE is once more becoming respected.
Luke 24:46-47 (The Voice translation). This is what the Scriptures said: that the promised Anointed One should suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, that in His name a radical change of thought and life should be preached, and that in His name the forgiveness of sins should be preached, beginning in Jerusalem and extending to all nations.
Luke 1:76-77 (The Voice translation). And you, my son, will be called the prophet of the Most High. For you will be the one to prepare the way for the Lord, so that the Lord’s people will receive knowledge of their freedom through the forgiveness of their sins.
Acts 2:38-39 (NKJV) Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”
Ephesians 1:7 (NKJV) In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.
