As we open tonight’s call, the nation is waiting to see whether or not there will be a government shutdown, which is set to begin at 12 AM, Wednesday, October 1st, without congressional action. We will pray into this matter, What a day this has nbeen…from the Department of War meeting this AM where Secretary of War Peete Hegseth’s fantastic pronouncements about the US Military, to President Trump’s address to the generals, to the announcement in the WH about the MAHA advances with Pfizer, and then later on, with the children who were recovering from cancer in the Oval Office with the President! We gave thanks to the Lord for all these wonderful things! Then we shared individual responses to the day!

Highlights of comments by U.S Secretary of War Pete Hegseth:
“From this moment forward, the only mission of the newly restored Department of War is this, war fighting, preparing for war and preparing to win, unrelenting and uncompromising in that pursuit.”
“Each service will ensure that every requirement for every Combat MOS, for every designated combat arms position, returns to the highest male standard only.”
“The new War Department’s “golden rule” is this: do unto your unit as you would have done unto your own child’s unit.…Standards must be uniform, gender-neutral and high. If not, they aren’t standards, they’re just suggestions,”
“It all starts with physical fitness and appearance. If the Secretary of War can do regular, hard [physical training], so can every member of our joint force,”
“Simply put, if you do not meet the male-level, physical standards for combat positions, cannot pass a PT test or don’t want to shave and look professional, it’s time for a new position or a new profession,”
President Trump hailed the use of military force to police American cities, telling generals and admirals that it was important to quell “the enemy within.”

Key takeaways from Secretary Hegseth’s speech
1. The era of race- and gender-based promotions is over “For too long, we’ve promoted too many uniform leaders for the wrong reasons – based on their race, based on gender quotas, based on historic so-called firsts,” said Hegseth, who fired Gen CQ Brown, an African American, as chair of the joint chiefs of staff in February, and has dispensed with the services of several high-ranking female personnel.
2. Diversity is not a welcome concept in the military – Hegseth boasted of “remov[ing] the social justice, politically correct and toxic ideological garbage that had infected our department”.He added: “No more identity months, DEI offices, dudes in dresses. No more climate change worship, no more division, distraction or gender delusions, no more debris.”
3. Looking the part is key – and fat-shaming is in “Fat troops are tiring to look at,” Hegseth said, as he ordered commanders to crack down on a lack of physical fitness. “It’s tiring to look out at combat formations, or really any formation, and see fat troops.” Commanders were not excepted from Hegseth’s purge on the overweight. He lamented having to see “fat generals and admirals in the halls of the Pentagon, and leading commands around the country and the world”. It breached what he set as the armed forces’ new “golden rule”, defined as “do unto your unit as you would have done unto your own child’s unit”. “Would you want him serving with fat or unfit or undertrained troops? Or alongside people who can’t make basic standards? Or in a unit where standards were lowered so certain types of troops could make it in? In a unit where leaders were promoted for reasons other than merit, performance and war-fighting? “The answer’s not just no, it’s hell no.”
4. Grooming matters and the clean-shaven look is paramount “No more beards, long hair, superficial individual expression,” the clean-shaven war secretary declared. “We’re going to cut our hair, shave our beards and adhere to standards.” “We don’t have a military full of Nordic pagans, but unfortunately, we have had leaders who either refuse to call BS and enforce standards or leaders who felt like they were not allowed to enforce standards. “The era of unprofessional appearance is over,” he declared. “No more beardos.” For those who balk at the requirement for “male physical standards, clean-shavenness and a professional look, “it’s time for a new position or a new profession”, Hegseth advised. At another point, he suggested that those who insist on sporting a beard to “join special forces”.
5. Hegseth’s new model forces may be no place for women. The first of Hegseth’s 10 Department of War directives seemed to make it explicit that he viewed the military as a man’s world. “[E]ach service will ensure that every requirement for every combat [member of service] for every designated combat arms position returns to the highest male standard only,” he said. In a less-than-encouraging message to female personnel, he did not try to hide that this could have the effect of preventing them from serving. “This is not about preventing women from serving,” he said “We very much value the impact of female troops. Our female officers and NCOs are the absolute best in the world. But when it comes to any job that requires physical power to perform in combat, those physical standards must be high and gender-neutral.
“If women can make it, excellent. If not, it is what it is. If that means no women qualify for some combat jobs, so be it. That is not the intent, but it could be the result, so be it … We’re not playing games. This is combat. This is life or death.”
6. Concepts of ‘emotionally sensitive’ leadership are out. “Leading war fighters toward the goals of high, gender-neutral and uncompromising standards in order to forge a cohesive, formidable and lethal Department of War is not toxic,” he said, complaining that words like “bullying”, “hazing” and “toxic” had been “weaponised and bastardised” and had had the effect of undermining commanders’ authority.“That’s why today at my direction, we’re undertaking a full review of the department’s definitions of so-called toxic leadership, bullying, and hazing to empower leaders to enforce standards without fear of retribution or second-guessing.”
7. It’s his way or the highway Any senior military commander who felt at odds with Hegseth’s vision of the military was invited to leave. “The sooner we have the right people, the sooner we can advance the right policies. But if the words I’m speaking today are making your heart sink, then you should do the honorable thing and resign,” he said. “We will thank you for your service.”
Maureen said: Today, we saw a TOTAL AFFIRMATION of the return of COMMON SENSE to the US Military, as our US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth addressed the top military leaders of our nation from all branches of service at Marine Base QUANTICO in VA, his basic message:
“WE’RE GOING FROM FAT AND WOKE TO FIT AND LETHAL!!!!”

Government likely ‘headed into a shutdown’
The clock is ticking to fund the government, and so far, lawmakers do not have a path forward to avert a partial shutdown. Leaders met with President Trump on Monday to negotiate a path forward to avert a partial government shutdown. Congressional Democrats are refusing to give Republicans the votes they need to pass a short-term funding agreement. Republicans want to extend current funding levels for seven weeks to avoid a shutdown, but Democrats are seeking an extension of expiring health insurance subsidies, demanding overhauls to Medicaid cuts and extensions to health care tax credits (an issue the GOP says should be negotiated separately.) The President told reporters at the White House that a shutdown is “probably likely,” and said the administration could use a funding lapse to make “irreversible cuts” to certain programs.
The Senate was supposed to deal with competing proposals to keep the government funded for another vote after 5:30 PM today. (A vote on those bills, including a measure that has already passed the House, had failed earlier this month, and there are no signs the outcome will be different this time around.) The first vote was to be on the Democratic proposal to extend government funding, followed by the GOP proposal, which has already passed the House. (The Senate already took identical votes on September 19th, and both bills failed, leading to the current stalemate.) Each vote would require 60 votes to succeed. Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R- SD) says a shutdown is “totally avoidable,” and has appealed to “reasonable” Democrats who could help propel a GOP-led bill to extend government funding to passage. “I’m hoping there are Democrats out there who are reasonable and understand what’s at stake here. This is totally avoidable; it is a decision they’re going to have to make, and if the government shuts down, it is on the Senate Democrats.” Thune, a South Dakota Republican, cited Democrats’ previous support for extending government funding. “I think what’s changed is, President Trump is in the White House. That’s what this is about this is politics. And there isn’t any substantive reason why there ought to be a government shutdown.” Thune said, “Ladies and gentlemen, there isn’t anything here to negotiate. This is a routine funding resolution to keep the government open so that we can continue our appropriations work and fund the government the old-fashioned way.”
Thune, holding up a copy of the funding extension, panned Jeffries and Schumer’s accusation that the bill was partisan in nature. “To me, this is purely a hostage-taking exercise on the part of the Democrats,” Thune said. “We are willing to sit down and work with them on some of the issues they want to talk about, whether it’s an extension of premium tax credits, with reforms, we’re happy to have that conversation. But as of right now, this is a hijacking.”
Vice President JD Vance said after the meeting, “I think we’re headed into a shutdown because the Democrats won’t do the right thing. I hope they change their mind. If you look at the original, they did with this negotiation, it was a $1.5 trillion spending package, basically saying the American people want to give massive amounts of money, hundreds of billions of dollars, to illegal aliens for their health care, while Americans are struggling to pay their health care bills. That was their initial foray into this negotiation. We thought it was absurd.”
Congressional Republicans argue that the House GOP’s is everything that Democrats pushed when they controlled the Senate: a “clean,” short-term extension to November 21st without partisan policy riders or spending, save for millions in new spending for increased security for lawmakers.

8:45 PM ET — SHUTDOWN IMMINENT: The Senate adjourned for the night after rejecting both a Democratic funding bill and a Republican measure, making a shutdown at midnight a near certainty. President Donald Trump told reporters earlier in the day that a shutdown seemed likely.
BLAME GAME: Republicans, including Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD), and House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), have blamed Democrats for trying to tack health care policy conditions onto their funding bill. Democrats, including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), have said they won’t support a bill without the health care provisions.
AGENCY PLANS: White House budget director Russell Vought sent a memo to the heads of agencies and departments tonight telling them to “execute their plans for an orderly shutdown.” Most departments have already put out guidance about which programs would stay open and which ones wouldn’t in the event of a shutdown.
We prayed for the removal of all these Dems who are not willing to do what is good for the nation, and are hijacking the process for pure political gain! It will backfire on them!
We then offered individual prayers:
Audrey (CA) shared “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when a wicked man rules, the people groan.” Proverbs 29:2 Let these unrighteous ones be removed!
Bernadette (NY) use this as an opportunity for President Trump to “clean house” and “get rid of the dead wood.”
Maureen said that at midnight, 100 K federal workers will leave office, having taken a buyout previously for resigning. This is the date for it to take effect. That means there will be openings for NEW PATRIOTIC EMPLOYEES!
Audrey (CA) explained about the “buy-outs” for the 100 K who previously resigned
Mary Ellen (IL) if the shutdown goes into effect, President Trump will have the option of firing some of those who are in place. (She noted that Schumer is intimidated by AOC and her crew!)
