Tuesday, October 22, 2019 – The 24/7 National Strategic Prayer Call

We begin the hour today by praising and giving thanks to God!

“Sing to the LORD! Praise the LORD! He rescues the oppressed from the power of evil people.”

Jeremiah 20:13

We sing:

A mighty fortress is our God, a bulwark never failing; Our helper He, amid the flood of mortal ills prevailing, For still our ancient foe doth seek to work us woe; his craft and pow’r are great, and, armed with cruel hate, on earth is not his equal.

And though this world, with devils filled, should threaten to undo us, we will not fear, for God hath willed His truth to triumph through us; the Prince of Darkness grim, we tremble not for him; his rage we can endure, for lo, his doom is sure, one little word shall fell him.

  The key assignment for the 24/7 National Strategic Prayer Call is to intercede hourly for the safety and security of our President, Donald John Trump, and to pray for that which pertains to our nation!

We pray for our President’s protection and cover him with the Blood of Jesus, 

asking that he will respond to every situation by the leading of the Holy Spirit.

We refer those to You who are plotting and planning the demise of our beloved President! 

We say “No!” to them and ask that You expose and foil all their plans! Thank You, Lord! 

We bless our First Lady, Melania, their marriage, their son Barron and all their family members.

We bless our Vice President Mike Pence, his wife Karen and their family

and all those serving in this Administration. 

We bless the Federal Reserve Board members.  

May they serve with integrity and honor, doing what’s right for our nation’s economy! 

The 24/7 NSPC is praying for the 2020 National Elections, 

positioning ourselves in intercession before the Lord on behalf of our President and nation!  

COUNTDOWN: 379 days until the election!

A CALL FOR A NATIONAL DAY OF REPENTANCE – Part 23

“Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.”

Luke 12:32

“Resolute”…a word used to describe our President… and one to which each of us ought to aspire!  It means “admirably purposeful, determined, unwavering,  adamant, single-minded, firm, unswerving, tenacious, bulldog, strong-minded…”  We get the point! He is no “pushover” and the world has quickly recognized it! 

We pray:

• That his resolute stance will not only continue…but strengthen, and that others will rally to his side!

Jason Jones and John Zmirak, co-authors of  The Race to Save Our Century, believe that President Trump’s pullout in Syria forced the Kurds to the negotiating table. It forced American neocons to denounce al Qaeda, Turkey, and jihad. If the US remains in eastern Syria, as seems likely, Trump will have leverage to keep Assad from revoking the liberties of Kurds and Syrian Christians. It’s only fair to the President to admit that…

• He broke a deadlocked situation that could have required US micromanagement for decades.
• He exposed the jihadist nature of the Free Syrian Army and Turkey’s regime. (Remember that Erdogan openly wants to Islamize Europe, and threatened to dump 3.6 million more migrants on the EU for criticizing his Syrian jihad.) 
• If the US works closely with Russia, it might even peel Syria off from its total dependence on Iran. 
• The neocons in Congress are now opposing jihad, instead of cheering it on. (There are rumors that the US might even withdraw its nuclear missiles from Turkey.). 
• Our “frenemy” (Turkey) might be on its way out of NATO as well as the EU…or its generals might see their way clear to remove Erdogan from power, to prevent that.

Those who are honest might say that’s not bad…for a “foreign policy amateur”!  Well done, Mr. President! 

We pray:

• That other journalists will begin to report and write boldly,  and that the truth of these about the reasoning behind the negotiating decisions made by our President will be seen and he will be vindicated by all! 

Lt. Col. Robert L. Maginnis, US Army Ret. oversees a team of national security experts in the Pentagon and has more than 800 published articles on national security and geopolitical issues. He also reflected on Missing the Bigger Picture in Kurdish Syria:

President Trump’s decision to withdraw our few troops from the Syria-Turkey border area earned him considerable criticism from allies.  

• Senator Lindsey Graham said the decision is “a catastrophe in the making.” 
• Representative Lin Cheney said it’s “a catastrophic mistake.”  
• Former UN Secretary Nikki Haley said, “We must always have the backs of our allies.” 

President Trump has answered these critics.  

• The Kurds were engaged in a contractual relationship fighting the Islamic State (ISIS) and were well paid and equipped for their fighting, much like any mercenary group.  
• They were given 3 years to consolidate eastern Syria to feed their long-held desire to form an independent Kurdistan with other Kurds in Turkey, Iraq, and Iran.  They failed! 

The Kurds’ problem, and by association that of the US, is that regional powers like Turkey and to a lesser extent Iran and Syria have long held the Kurds in disdain.  Turkey considers the Syrian Kurds to be allies of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party or PKK, fighting for independence for the last 35 years. The Kurds basically “used” the fight with ISIS to feed their regional civil war to earn independence.

We pray:

• That we will begin to understand long-held animosities and factional issues in this region…and pray for the salvation of the peoples of this region! May those “who dwell in darkness see a great LIGHT”…Jesus!

President Trump is aware of that agenda and is also trying to constrain American hawks who want to use our military willy-nilly across the world.  During his 2016 campaign, he frequently said that he wants to escape from endless wars and bring our fighters home.   

We need to ask ourselves if the withdrawal of a few American troops really matters in the conflict either against ISIS, and did it really grant the Turkish government the “green light” to attack “terrorist” Kurds?   

• The Syrian civil war which led to the rise of ISIS is over and the bloody dictator in Damascus won, thanks to the Russians and Iranians.  We can blame Obama for that outcome, not President Trump. 
• The Turks have permission from Damascus to cross into Syria and they will now consolidate a buffer zone along the Syrian border, control terrorist actions fostered by the independence-minded Kurds and allow for millions of refugees to return home. 
• Al Qaeda and ISIS are in many more places today than when US forces first pursued them in the mountains of Afghanistan and in the northern plains of Iraq.  What remains of ISIS is trapped in a small area in Syria, and can be easily handled by Turkish and Russian airstrikes.

All the fake news about the Kurdish plight is evidence of a basic misunderstanding about the Middle East, which is locked in a constant cycle of war.  President Trump’s critics can learn about Middle Eastern culture by watching Lawrence of Arabia. The first time Lawrence goes into the desert, his guide stops at an oasis.  As the guide drinks from the well, a dark figure on a camel rides quickly towards them and kills Lawrence’s guide. Lawrence asks why the Arab shot the guide. The Arab responds, “He is Hazzami. He is nothing. He knew he could not drink from our well.”  

We pray:

• That we would not allow the media to advance false narratives that stir up our “emotions”, to cause us to pressure the President to make decisions that are ultimately against our national interests!

Much of the region is locked in tribal wars and they don’t want democracy…and we do not need to stay there another day, much less a century. Let the regional players handle these problems and leave the larger security challenges like China and Russia to the United States.  America cannot get involved in every conflict around the world! That is, unless you believe, as some Trump critics do, that we are the world’s policeman… and like former American leaders, want to promote democracy at the pointy end of the bayonet! 

Our allies and foreign partners like us because we are ready to fight for them and more often than not give them training and equipment to settle their own challenges. The American taxpayer ought to ask how much of this fighting really supports our national interests. 

English statesman and General Oliver Cromwell (1599-1658) said to his troops: “Put your trust in God, but mind to keep your powder dry.”   That’s an apropos view in the Syria account.  America has too many fights ongoing now and much bigger ones ahead.  For our national interests, we too must “keep our powder dry” and not squander our resources on others’ wars.  Let’s put Syria in the rearview mirror.

We pray:

• That we would not be “armchair quarterbacks”…dissing the President about things that we really don’t know anything about…that are ”beyond our pay grade” (the responsibility of those who are of a higher authority that we are, beyond one’s skill, knowledge, ability, or willingness ).

As we prepare for the DAY OF CORPORATE REPENTANCE for the United States of America, to take place on Sunday, November 3, 2019, we ask that it will be a stepping stone to a multi-generational revival that will go on and on until Jesus returns. Bring all the streams of Your Beautiful Body together, to converge into a unified river of faith, that will flow throughout our land and into the nations of the world!
