That the Walls of Division in Our Nation Will Come Down
“And He will spread out His hands in their midst as a swimmer reaches out to swim, and He will bring down their pride together with the trickery of their hands. The fortress of the high fort of your walls He will bring down, lay low, and bring to the ground, down to the dust.”
Isaiah 25:11-12
Strategic Targets for today:
On June 12, 1987, President Ronald Reagan traveled to Berlin, Germany, where he stood at the Brandenburg Gate at Reichburg and called for the Berlin Wall to come down. He stated to the leader of Communist Russia, General Secretary Gorbachev, “If you seek peace if you seek prosperity for the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe; if you seek liberalization, come here to this gate. Mr. Gorbachev, open this gate. Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!”
Later in his speech, President Reagan said; “This wall will fall! For it cannot withstand faith; it cannot withstand truth. The wall cannot withstand freedom.”
(President Reagan’s speech spoke life to faith, truth, and freedom – God caused the Soviet Union to fall December 25-26, 1991.)
Most of the walls in America are not built with stone and brick, but they divide people, even God’s people. We call for the walls that have been built in our nation to fall. In the church world, denominations have separated themselves and built walls. In government, our two parties are divided. At the joint session of Congress and the Senate, we saw the walls that divide our two political parties. This is a picture of every state across the nation. We call for walls in this nation to fall and as President Reagan stated, for faith and truth and freedom to be established in every pillar of influence in our nation.
We pray for every wall that divides our government;
Walls of political parties and walls of conservatives and liberals.
We pray for every wall that divides our denominations to come down.
We pray for every wall that divides races and cultures in our nation and in our nation.
We pray that every wall that divides churches from the lost and dying world around us will fall.
The gates of hell will not prevail against us delivering them and setting captives free.
