Strategic Focus for Monday
WELCOME THE KING OF GLORY INTO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
President Trump Steps into North Korea
“Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you…”
Joshua 1:3
Standing at the Korean DMZ, President Trump was directly confronting the prince of death, the ruling spiritual power over that region of the world. His meeting with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un was not like the previous ones in Singapore or Vietnam. This one took place on the border of the two Koreas, where millions of people have been sacrificed and killed due to the separation of one Korea into two countries…North and South.
Korea is 11 hours ahead of Eastern Time. In the wee hours of Sunday morning here in the US, we watched the news and prayed, rejoicing over what was taking place at the DMZ on what was already Sunday afternoon there.
The word came that President Trump would be given “every place he put His feet”…and when he walked across that DMZ line, he became the first sitting American President to set foot on North Korean soil. It was first a spiritual “win”…as well as a win in the natural, due to the agreement he and Kim reached to reopen negotiations which had been previously stalled!
President Trump’s “unscheduled” meeting with Kim left some members of the press speechless! Even CNN expressed an appreciation for what was taking place! Members of the press were scrambling, “jockeying for position” to get the perfect shot, and had to cope with the security details of three Presidents fending them off! Stephanie Grisham, the new White House Press Secretary, was pushed and bruised by North Korean security guards while helping members of the White House press pool position themselves to cover the historic moment between Trump and Kim.
FOX News’ Tucker Carlson said he believed that President Trump has been genuine in his relationship with Kim and claimed the President “dominated” and “towered over” the rogue state leader. “I think it’s heartfelt … he’s not an admirer of the atrocities [Kim’s] committed obviously, but it can’t be easy to hold on to third generational power in a country like that where the ruling class is filled with 80-year-old generals …it takes a pretty hard man to keep a hold on power in a place like North Korea, so I think (President) Trump respects his toughness.” Another speaker on FOX News said that “things have gone from ‘little rocket man’ to ‘we like each other’…and that “President Trump’s formula of ‘human interaction and good chemistry’ make for good diplomacy!” We agree!
We pray:
- For Stephanie Grisham, our new White House Press Secretary, who was roughed up and bruised in an encounter with North Korean security guards. May she recover quickly and take her place as the President’s new spokesperson.
After the initial handshake, and the steps taken into North Korean territory by the American President, President Trump and Kim Jong Un sat down on the South Korean side of the DMZ in the Freedom House to talk and give a “photo op” against a backdrop of 7 American and 7 North Korean alternating flags. (The South Korean flag and President Moon were noticeably absent, as Kim prefers to deal directly with President Trump, not with a “middle man”…South Korea.)
This was an unscheduled meeting and President Trump said he was glad that all the parties were “able to react so quickly”. Their time together was definitely more than just an anticipated handshake; President Trump and Kim spoke together privately in the Freedom House for just under an hour.
President Trump has often shown his willingness to engage in “unconventional” diplomacy. He said that since Singapore, it’s been a whole different “ball game” …and that Hanoi was a “great success”, even though the “fake news” reported it as a failure…and that, through it all, he and Kim had maintained their relationship!
We pray:
- In gratitude for the willingness of Kim to come to meet the President on such short notice, and for the respect with which they greeted each other. May that be a hallmark of future negotiations between our nation and all those we must deal with – friend or foe – for the good of the world and her people!
During their meeting, it was decided that the US and North Korea will reopen negotiations. Each will designate a “working team” that will convene over the next few weeks to start talking together and going over key details. The US team will be headed up by President Trump’s North Korean Envoy, the US Special Representative to North Korea, Steve Biegun, (a Republican businessman and diplomat from Detroit, MI) who will facilitate these meetings, under the leadership of the Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
We pray:
- For Steve Biegun, who will lead the American team as they restart talks with the North Koreans. May he be guided by the Holy Spirit, so that he has the wisdom, discerning of spirits, and the gifts that enable him to operate in Godly diplomacy, to move these talks along, reach an agreement that will resolve the current issues, and bring peace and security to this region!
- And worship God over this region of the world, asking Him to bind and neutralize the spirit of death that has previously controlled it. We thank Him in advance for removing it, and declare, according to the words of 1 Corinthians 15:55 “Death is swallowed up in victory. O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?”
After the “one on one”, Kim departed for home in the North, and President Trump and President Moon of South Korea met with reporters. Moon paid tribute to the “creative and bold approach” that President Trump had demonstrated and said that he was pleased at the agreement to begin working on negotiations again.
President Trump said that his meeting with Kim was “a good one…very strong…very solid”. He called it “historic”… saying that “it will be even more historic”…and that “we’re not looking for speed…but looking to get it right!” He also noted that sanctions were staying on, but at some point they might be lifted, depending on the level of cooperation!
The President said that “a lot of great triumphs have been based on relationship” and that when he approached Kim at the DMZ line, President Trump asked Kim: “Would you like me to come across?” Kim responded: “I would be so honored!” The President stepped across the line and into North Korea…a bold step in confronting the enemy in its “territory” and a step forward for American diplomacy.
President Trump said that when he and Kim first met, from day one, they liked each other. (We were reminded that prior to their first meeting, the Lord told us that President Trump was anointed as a father figure to help release this young man Kim from the spiritual darkness that surrounded and even permeated him!)
The President extended an invitation to Kim to visit the US at some point in the future and said he’d eventually visit North Korea. He expressed his gratitude for Kim coming to meet with him on such short notice, and applauded the Secret Service and the military for all their efforts in preparation, saying that “what happened today was great for the world!”
It is clear that none of the countries in the region want a North Korean collapse and that Kim’s chief concern is that he be assured that “regime change” is not in the cards. Having that assurance from President Trump helps him to be more open to talks.
Following his meeting with Kim, President Trump traveled to Osan Air Force Base to greet some of our 27,000 military personnel serving in the Korea theater. He told our troops that he was looking forward to getting on Air Force One and heading home after three weeks of intense activities! He deserves a well-earned rest, after all he has accomplished over the past few weeks as President and the leader of the free world!
We pray:
- That our President has a “time of refreshing” – a real “soaking” in the Lord’s Presence – as he returns home to the US after his travels abroad!
- That he will be restored and renewed for our nation’s 243rd birthday party…the Fourth of July celebration that will take place in Washington, DC at the Lincoln Memorial – perhaps the largest in our nation’s history!
- That he will be seen for who he really is as he represented the US and righteousness in the past weeks. Let those who have been deaf and blinded to that reality have ears to hear and eyes to see the gift we have been given in this man who was chosen by God to be our President!
- Father, bless our 45th President, Donald J. Trump…and bless our people and our nation, as we bless You.
- We declare once again that we are Yours. Lord! “Hineni, Adonai! Here we are, Lord!” Use us for Your plans and purposes, and be glorified as we “report for duty” to serve You in the End Times harvest!

Specific Prayer Topic for Today
Praying for the Congress of the United States: Senate and House of Representatives
Representative Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and House Minority Whip, speaking to Maria Bartiromo on Fox, said:
“What a historical night. While America slept, President Trump made history! To be the first President to stop — to take a step into North Korea. Historians will study this night. They will study this week because this is significant. This is the change of direction for the next 25 years, first the restarting of talks with China for trade on our standards. But to restart these talks after he rightfully walked away in Vietnam, this is the correct way. And, really, even those who dislike this President are going to have to give him credit. This is what he said when he talked about ‘the art of the deal’, that this could make America and the world fundamentally different for the next century.”
We pray:
- That even those who dislike this President will “give him credit for what he has accomplished this week, both at the G20 and in Korea! Let each one “Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.” Romans 13:7
- That a new level of respect will be given to him by the American people, who will recognize what he is doing and appreciate it, rather than believing and following those in DC whose personal interests keep them from rightfully acknowledging him and giving credit where credit is due!
