Watchmen on the Wall
[VUL] 62:6 super muros tuos Hierusalem constitui custodes tota die et tota nocte perpetuo non tacebunt qui reminiscimini Domini ne taceatis (The Vulgate is a late fourth-century Latin translation of the Bible that became, during the 16th century, the Catholic Church’s officially promulgated Latin version of the Bible.)
[YLT] 62:6 ‘On thy walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen, All the day, and all the night, Continually, they are not silent.’ O ye remembrancers of Jehovah, Keep not silence for yourselves, (Young’s Literal Translation (YLT) is a translation of the Bible into English, published in 1862. )
[CLV] 62:6 Over your walls, Jerusalem, I give the supervision to keepers. All the day and all the night, continually, they shall not hush reminding Yahweh. There must be no stillness for you!” (CLV – Concordant Literal Version)
These three translations are closer to the Hebrew version.
[K1611] 62:6 I haue set watchmen vpon thy walles, O Ierusalem, which shall neuer hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the Lord, keepe not silence:
[KJV] 62:6 I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; They shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the LORD, do not keep silent,
The majority of the English translations and as well many other languages follow the KJV. The idea of a continued watch on the wall is replaced with a negation.
The Watch must be continued and the Watchmen on the Wall must continually fulfill their assignment. This is only o corporate ministry.
For this reason, the Watchmen must have the freedom to come in and go out from the Wall according with their personal and family needs but fulfilling the commitment for an agreed period of time. There are no imposed limits on time or place.
The administrators must oversee the continuation of the Watch and the Advisers, spiritual matters.
On the Wall, the Watchmen must take into consideration what is happening inside the walls and outside the walls. Their ministry is to watch first the Lord and according to His instructions (prophetic prayers) to cry out the real needs in real-time of the community, city, and nation.

We of the 24/7 National Strategic Prayer Call are issuing “A CALL TO THE WALL”, inviting the BODY of CHRIST to participate in a corporate ministry where Watchmen on the Wall continually fulfill their assignment of intercessory prayer on behalf of the nation.
The Watchmen will take into consideration what is happening inside the walls and outside the walls. Their ministry is to continuously watch what the Lord is saying and doing, and according with His instructions, through prophetic prayers, cry out to HIM on behalf of the real needs of the community, city and nation.
Isaiah 62:6 is a well-known verse, and these translations, which use the word CONTINUALLY, are closer to the original Hebrew version.
· Isaiah 62:6 Over your walls, Jerusalem, I give the supervision to keepers. All the day and all the night, continually, they shall not hush reminding Yahweh. There must be no stillness for you!” (CLV – Concordant Literal Version)
· Isaiah 62:6 ‘On thy walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen, All the day, and all the night, Continually, they are not silent.’ O ye remembrancers of Jehovah, Keep not silence for yourselves, (Young’s Literal Translation (YLT) is a translation of the Bible into English, published in 1862. )
· NOTE: The majority of translations follow the KJV (below). The idea of a continuous watch on the wall is replaced with a negative phrase (not be silent) rather than continuously (a positive).
o Isaiah 62:6 I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; They shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the LORD, do not keep silent, [KJV]
In order to assure continuous prayer:
· Each Watchman who serves in facilitation needs the freedom to move in and out on the Wall, according to their personal schedules and family needs.
· Each will fulfill their commitments for an agreed upon period of time, with no imposed limits on how long they will serve. Each will determine that for themselves as the Holy Spirit leads them.
· The Administrators will oversee the continuous flow of the Watch, assuring that there are facilitators for each hour who will lead those joining them as the Spirit leads.
· A team of Advisers to the Watch will cover us in prayer and offer advice that will help us to sustain the continuous prayer and move through it as the Spirit leads.
