Strategic Focus for Monday

WELCOME THE KING OF GLORY INTO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!

The Battle Spreads Throughout the Nation! KADIMA! – Part 13

“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female;

for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”

Galatian 3:28

We have all heard the term “American Exceptionalism”. This concept has provided US citizens with a representative form of self-recognition across the centuries. John Winthrop’s admonition to his fellow New England colonists is usually cited as the foundational moment of American exceptionalism: “We shall be as a city upon a hill. The eyes of all people are upon us.” These stirring words from Winthrop’s “A Model of Christian Charity” (1630) have fostered the view of America in religious terms – as an elect nation and a chosen people. The Founders imagined the United States as an unprecedentedly free, new nation based on founding documents – the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution – that announced its unique destiny to become the champion of the universal rights of all humankind. America is  “exceptional” because we were conceived and brought forth by the True and Living God Who has sustained us all these many years! HalleluYah!

We pray:

  • That the people of this nation will once again “build altars” in their hearts and homes, and offer sweet sacrifices of praise and worship to Almighty God on behalf of the United States of America.  Pray.
  • That as we return to and declare our dependence on God, Who brought forth this nation and has sustained it for 244 years, He will be pleased and enable us to serve Him and accomplish His perfect will in the end times. Pray.
  • That Americans will remember both our spiritual and natural history, and see the design of God in both. Let us offer ourselves to Him anew today, all we are and all that He intends us to be as a nation.  Pray.

David Barton, of Wallbuilders, is a “treasure trove of truth” about the HISTORY of the United States of America.  He has some powerful historical information to share with the Body, in a season where it is critical that we know the truth and the truth that we know will set us free!  We are in a time where we are being called to  “Pursue and Recover All”!

Let us read and pray into these truths he shares about our nation’s history…and together rejoice over the good and reversing that which is false and does not glorify God!

When Hezekiah Niles (an American publisher) was writing a history book, he went to John Adams, who was part of the founding of America and asked: “Tell me who you think were the most important people in founding America?”  John Adams began listing the names of preachers.  Rev. Samuel Cooper, Rev. Jonathan Mayhew, Rev. George Whitfield, Rev. Charles Chauncy….including black preachers such as the Rev. Richard Allen, Rev. Absalom Jones, Rev. John Marrant, Rev. Harry Hoosier and Rev. Lemuel Haynes.

Rev. Harry Hoosier, better known during his life as “Black Harry”, was an African American Methodist preacher during the Second Great Awakening in the early United States. He traveled with Francis Asbury, the first bishop of the Methodist Episcopal Church in the United States.

  • Hoosier was a revivalist and evangelist, traveling over 300,000 miles on horseback (equivalent to riding around the world on horseback 12 times) and drew large crowds whenever he preached!
  • Benjamin Rush, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, said he heard Rev Harry Hoosier preach and that Harry Hoosier was “the greatest orator he had ever heard”. (Note: He had personally    heard Patrick Henry and many others, but thought that Harry was the best.)
  • When Rev. Hoosier preached to blue-collar workers on the frontier, to mountain men, explorers and others who lived a very rough life, they converted to Christ, their behavior changed and it was noticeable. As those converts started moving west, a lot of them went to Indiana territory. People would ask who they were because they were so different. The answer: “Oh, they are a bunch of Hoosiers!”. Indiana is the Hoosier State named after a black evangelist. Pray.

Rev. John Marrant, also a black man, fought in the American Revolution. He was born in GA and moved to SC. There he attended a church meeting led by George Whitfield, was converted at age 13 and came to a strong relationship with Christ. His family rejected and threw him out of their home.

  • Befriended a Cherokee Indian, he learned that the Cherokee law was to kill anyone who is not Cherokee who dared to enter the tribe. Marrant was told how he would die and thought: “I’ll be with Jesus”
  • As he started to worship and talk to Jesus, one by one, the members of the Cherokee tribe were converted.
  • John went from tribe to tribe accompanied by the 50 Cherokee assigned to protect him as he witnessed to the native Americans.
  • Rev. Marrant is the first to witness to Native people. Pray.

Rev. Lemuel Haynes, 1700s, another black man, preached to white congregations in Vermont, Massassachuets, and New York and was very popular.

  • He was the first black man to have a degree of higher education, first in history to have a sermon credit, and he was also a soldier in the American Revolutionone of the early Minutemen.
  • George Washington was his Commander-in-Chief, and in his churches in New England,  he preached every year on George Washington’s birthday about George Washington. (David Barton has his Bible) Pray.

These are great preachers we know nothing about today. This is our American History…not black history, not white history…simply American History…and it is ours! It belongs to all of us!  It’s high  time that we “Pursue and Recover All!”  Let us pull down all these vile, divisive strongholds, and build unity in Jesus.

We pray:

  • Lord, these amazing men of color were American patriots, faithful to You and to this nation.  When we hear lies about systemic racism in our nation, let us reject them roundly and share the stories of these American heroes, heralded by all…white and black alike! Pray.

There is more!

  • April 18, 1775…the American Revolution starts…Paul Revere makes his famous ride…along with others who made similar rides, as we learned in yesterday’s focus!  Here is an additional “rider”  Wentworth Cheswell was a black patriot,  elected to office in NH, a very white state, in 1768. He was re-elected for the next 49 years to 8 different positions.  When we see all the racial issues that took place in GA and SC and slavery, we see none of that happened at all throughout the Northern Colonies. Cheswell was a great patriot, political leader and historian. He wrote 3 volumes of NH history.
  • John Robbins was a white patriot and Prince Estabrook a black patriot.  They were among the 70 men from Jonas Clark’s church who stood valiantly against 700 British Regulars on that day in Lexington. 18 of these patriots died. Robbins and Eastabrook were among them!  Black and white… went to church together, stood together, and died together that day.  We only hear that story of segregation in the south, but in the North black and white lived together in peace!
  • Peter Salem, another black man, was the hero of one of the biggest battles…the Battle of Bunker Hill in June 1775. He received a dozen commendations that day. He was in the textbook for generations that talked about how important he was as an American hero that day.
  • On December 25, 1776, George Washington crossed Delaware with his troops! Right in the front of the boat was Prince Whipple. Black patriots served nine times longer than white patriots, and were committed to seeing America free. We hear nothing about that.

July 1777, the second in command to George Washington, Gen Charles Lee was captured by the British. To get the General back, they had to have a “prisoner exchange” but the Americans had a plan. (This was the beginning of Special Forces in the U.S. Military.)  It was a suicide plan and they needed volunteers.  20 blacks and 20 whites volunteered. They were led by Jack Sisson, a black man. At 2 AM,  they slipped past all the ships, broke into the prison, knocked out guards, and  Jack Sisson, using his head and shoulder, broke through the door and rescued Lee…a very successful “prisoner exchange”.

We pray:

  • Forgive us, Lord! We used to know our black heroes…but now they are not being taught about in public schools. Instead, our children are being propagandized into believing we are systemically racist! Poppycock! Reveal the truth to our people, especially our children, Lord, so every American can learn the truth and we can all be proud of our shared HISTORY. Pray.

The Word of God tells us that “we have a goodly heritage” and we do! It is also a Godly heritage,  which we must take care to preserve, protect and defend…TOGETHER!

We pray:

  • America was founded upon Biblical principles. Let America bless God so that God will bless America! Pray.
  • America has had only one form of government for 235 years. The average length of a constitution in other nations is 17 years. We have indeed been blessed with our founding document! Pray.
  • So much of our true history has been covered up, so we ask that You open the wells of truth, Lord and show the entire world that Jesus Christ is the absolute Truth… the Rock upon which the USA stands.  Pray.
  • You have chosen President Donald John Trump and his family “for such a time as this”… to lead us into Your plan, purpose, destiny, and righteousness. Pray.
  • For the letter we have sent to President Trump to reach him speedily and be responded to in the affirmative. Pray.
  • For an “appointed place” and an “appointed time” to meet and pray with  President Trump! Pray.
