We begin our hour by praising and giving thanks to God!
“He Who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords,
Who Alone has immortality, Who dwells in unapproachable light, Whom no one has ever seen or can see.
To Him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.”
1 Timothy 6:15
We sing: To Jesus Christ our Sovereign King
To Jesus Christ, our Sovereign King, Who is the world’s salvation,
all praise and homage do we bring, and thanks and adoration.
Christ Jesus, Victor, Christ Jesus, Ruler! Christ Jesus, Lord and Redeemer!
Thy reign extend, O King Benign, to ev’ry land and nation,
For in Thy kingdom, Lord Divine, alone we find salvation.
Christ Jesus, Victor, Christ Jesus, Ruler! Christ Jesus, Lord and Redeemer!
To Thee and to Thy Church, great King, we pledge our hearts’ oblation,
Until before Thy throne we sing, in endless jubilation.
Christ Jesus, Victor, Christ Jesus, Ruler! Christ Jesus, Lord and Redeemer!

The Sword of the Lord and of Gideon – Part 2 – God Chooses His Army
“But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise,
and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;
and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His Presence.
But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption— that, as it is written,
“He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.”
1 Corinthians 1:27-31
These are things we heard as we sought the Lord for this assignment:
- Today is known as St. Thomas Day, commemorating when Christ revealed His wounds to Apostle Thomas. This is a day we were appointed to be in DC, and on it, we, like Thomas and Gideon ask for signs from the Lord that will strengthen our faith and commitment.
- From the scripture, we see that Gideon was called to fight first for his family as the invaders came toward his home. We, too, as we fight for our nation, are fighting first for our own families and the generations to come! It’s the same as when Nehemiah assigned each family to build the wall by their own homes as they worked on rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem!
Yesterday, as our on-site team stood under blossoming cherry trees that lined the shore across from the Jefferson and the Lincoln Memorials, we sang:
“You are worthy of it all…You are worthy of it all…
and from You are all things…and to You ate all things,
You deserve the glory!”
At this hour, God is being glorified by our on-site team and those praying off-site on the 24/7 NSPC. We are united in heart, mind, and spirit, intent on giving God ALL the glory for what He is about to do in this nation!
As we have been watching and listening and praying, God has shown Himself mighty in our midst, and we declare with full certainty that He is mighty to save! He is Christ Jesus, Victor, Christ Jesus, Ruler! Christ Jesus, Lord, and Redeemer! Pray.
God’s strategy for this assignment was received as we looked at the story of Gideon…and saw how God sovereignty selected, prepared and then used this man…who “self-identified” as being from a family that was “the weakest in Manasseh,” and of them, was “the least” in his father’s house.” God thought differently about Gideon…calling him a “mighty man of valor”…and He promised to “be with him”, so that he would “defeat the Midianites as one man.”
Let us continue to unveil this strategy, as we read and pray into Judges 7.
Then Jerubbaal (that is, Gideon) and all the people who were with him rose early and encamped beside the well of Harod, so that the camp of the Midianites was on the north side of them by the hill of Moreh in the valley. And the Lord said to Gideon, “The people who are with you are too many for Me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel claim glory for itself against Me, saying, ‘My own hand has saved me.’ Pray.
Now therefore, proclaim in the hearing of the people, saying, ‘Whoever is fearful and afraid, let him turn and depart at once from Mount Gilead.’ ” And twenty-two thousand of the people returned, and ten thousand remained. Pray.
But the Lord said to Gideon, “The people are still too many; bring them down to the water, and I will test them for you there. Then it will be, that of whom I say to you, ‘This one shall go with you,’ the same shall go with you; and of whomever I say to you, ‘This one shall not go with you,’ the same shall not go.” So he brought the people down to the water. And the Lord said to Gideon, “Everyone who laps from the water with his tongue, as a dog laps, you shall set apart by himself; likewise everyone who gets down on his knees to drink.” And the number of those who lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, was three hundred men; but all the rest of the people got down on their knees to drink water. Then the Lord said to Gideon, “By the three hundred men who lapped I will save you, and deliver the Midianites into your hand. Let all the other people go, every man to his place.”. So the people took provisions and their trumpets in their hands. And he sent away all the rest of Israel, every man to his tent, and retained those three hundred men. Pray.
Now the camp of Midian was below him in the valley. It happened on the same night that the Lord said to him, “Arise, go down against the camp, for I have delivered it into your hand. But if you are afraid to go down, go down to the camp with Purah your servant, and you shall hear what they say; and afterward your hands shall be strengthened to go down against the camp.” Then he went down with Purah his servant to the outpost of the armed men who were in the camp. Now the Midianites and Amalekites, all the people of the East, were lying in the valley as numerous as locusts; and their camels were without number, as the sand by the seashore in multitude. And when Gideon had come, there was a man telling a dream to his companion. He said, “I have had a dream: To my surprise, a loaf of barley bread tumbled into the camp of Midian; it came to a tent and struck it so that it fell and overturned, and the tent collapsed.” Then his companion answered and said, “This is nothing else but the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel! Into his hand God has delivered Midian and the whole camp.” Pray.
And so it was, when Gideon heard the telling of the dream and its interpretation, that he worshiped. He returned to the camp of Israel, and said, “Arise, for the Lord has delivered the camp of Midian into your hand.” Then he divided the three hundred men into three companies, and he put a trumpet into every man’s hand, with empty pitchers, and torches inside the pitchers. And he said to them, “Look at me and do likewise; watch, and when I come to the edge of the camp you shall do as I do: When I blow the trumpet, I and all who are with me, then you also blow the trumpets on every side of the whole camp, and say, ‘ The sword of the Lord and of Gideon!’” Pray.
Judges 7:1-18
We pray:
- In gratitude for the strategies, You give us for every battle that we face, and for the confidence to know that it is You Who will bring about the victory.
“Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.”
1 Samuel 17:47
Pray.
- Lord, help us to fully submit ourselves to You, so that we might respond correctly to Your direction at all times.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.”
Isaiah 55:9
Pray.

So amazing, this focus, the site is amazing Pastor Ioan!!!
What a powerful and timely focus this is. As we prayed into it this Sunday evening we were all so encouraged, greatly blessed, and reassured of the awesome greatness if our God. The same yesterday, today and forever! Thank you Father for blessing our leadership with Your wisdom and grace to hear from You so clearly and distinctly. What a wonderful shepherd You are.
