Dec 26, 2019 – Prayer Focus
Thursday, December 26, 2019 – The 24/7 National Strategic Prayer Call
“A CALL TO THE WALL…ONE NATION UNDER GOD”
1-712-770-4340 Code: 543555 #
We begin our hour by praising and giving thanks to God!
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory,
the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”
John 1:14
We sing:
O little town of Bethlehem, how still we see thee lie;
above thy deep and dreamless sleep the silent stars go by:
yet in thy dark streets shineth the everlasting Light;
the hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight.
For Christ is born of Mary, and gathered all above,
while mortals sleep, the angels keep their watch of wond’ring love.
O morning stars, together proclaim the holy birth!
And praises sing to God the King, and peace to men on earth.
How silently, how silently, the wondrous gift is giv’n!
So God imparts to human hearts the blessings of his heav’n.
No ear may hear his coming, but in this world of sin,
where meek souls will receive him still, the dear Christ enters in.
O holy child of Bethlehem, descend to us, we pray;
cast out our sin and enter in; be born in us today.
We hear the Christmas angels the great glad tidings tell;
O come to us, abide with us, our Lord Emmanuel!

We say “No!” to them and ask that You expose and foil all their plans! Thank You, Lord!
We bless our First Lady, Melania, their marriage, their son Barron and all their family members.
We bless our Vice President Mike Pence, his wife Karen and their family

Strategic Focus for Thursday
WELCOME THE KING OF GLORY INTO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
The World Comes to Worship at the Feet of Jesus
Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king,
behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying,
“Where is He who has been born King of the Jews?
For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”
When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together,
he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born. So they said to him,
“In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written by the prophet:
‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, Are not the least among the rulers of Judah;
For out of you shall come a Ruler Who will shepherd My people Israel.’”
Then Herod, when he had secretly called the wise men, determined from them what time the star appeared.
And he sent them to Bethlehem and said,
“Go and search carefully for the young Child,
and when you have found Him, bring back word to me, that I may come and worship Him also.”
When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was.
When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.
And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother,
and fell down and worshiped Him.
And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him:
gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
Then, being divinely warned in a dream that they should not return to Herod,
they departed for their own country another way.
Matthew 2:1-12
We pray:
- In thanksgiving for Your WORD…and for YOUR WORD MADE FLESH, Your Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior, whose birth we are celebrating these days!
- Rejoicing in the manifestation of Your Son to the Gentiles, and for our adoption as Your sons and daughters through our acceptance of Him as our Savior and Lord!
- With longing that those who are still afar off will come to know, love and serve You with us!
For many Latino Christians, the Christmas season officially ends on January 6th, the Feast of the Epiphany, (also known as the Theophany, Little Christmas and Three Kings’ Day.) On that particular day, the “encounter” between Jesus and the “wise men” is celebrated. It memorializes the time when, after His birth, God incarnate revealed Himself to the world! It is a joyful celebration of the manifestation of the incarnation of Jesus Christ!
We pray:
- For all to whom the Lord Jesus is being revealed during this holy season of Christmas. May each hungry heart be prepared to open and receive Him, so they might fully enter into understanding of the Incarnation!
Since the early days of Christianity, Biblical scholars have offered varying interpretations of the meaning and significance of the gold, frankincense and myrrh that the Magi presented to Jesus. These items were valuable gifts to honor a king. When describing Jerusalem’s glorious restoration, Isaiah tells of nations and kings who will come before the Lord with these gifts!
“The multitude of camels shall cover your land, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah;
all those from Sheba shall come;
They shall bring gold and incense, and they shall proclaim the praises of the Lord.”
Isaiah 60:6.
Although Matthew’s gospel does not include the names or number of the magi, many believe that the number of the gifts is what led to the tradition of the three Kings / Wise Men / Magi. Matthew recounts how they followed the path of a star… across the desert…and traveled from what was called “the Orient” to Bethlehem. Tradition names them: Melchior, Caspar, and Balthazar. Each was prepared for this long-anticipated birth, and they brought with them precious gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh for the new KING. As they presented their gifts, they bowed down and worshiped Him!
Each gift represented a distinct part of Jesus’ destiny. Let us read and acknowledge each point:
- Gold was a symbolic acknowledgment of Jesus’ royal standing as the “King of the Jews”. Pray
- Frankincense, represented His divine nature, for He is not an earthly king but the Son of God, and people would come to worship Him as such! Pray
- Myrrh, a perfume used in preparing the dead for burial, was a symbol of Jesus’ mortality…foreshadowing His death as a means to cleanse humanity of its sins. Pray
As we ponder the revelation of Christ to the Gentile world, we are grateful to be among those who know Him, believe in Him, have received Him and belong wholly to Him! The Wise Men of old represented us then…and we come before Him today, acknowledging Him for ourselves! As we move through this time of celebration of Jesus first coming, let us have a deeper longing and heartfelt anticipation of His second coming! Let each one of our hearts be filled with joyful expectation as we approach the year 2020, saying:
“THE KING OF GLORY comes! The nation rejoices!”

We were gladdened to see that President Donald Trump and first lady Melania attended a service on Christmas Eve at Family Church in West Palm Beach, Florida. Pastor Jimmy Scroggins and his family greeted the Trumps as they arrived for the “Candlelight Christmas Celebration” and they were applauded and cheered while taking their seats. Reading of scripture were interlaced with traditional Christmas songs, as artificial snow descended from the rafters…to the delight of the congregants! The Trumps then returned to Mara-Lago and were greeted by applause as they entered the dining room for Christmas Eve dinner. The President commented: “We’re going to have a great year.” Earlier in the day, the President called military service members stationed across the world to share greetings and praise the armed forces for their efforts to eliminate the last of the Islamic State’s caliphate and for taking down ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. He touched on US economic success and the 2020 pay raise for troops. “You make it possible for us to do what we have to do” he said, thanking them for their service.
We pray:
- In thanksgiving for a President and First Lady who honor God and desire to bring their “gifts” to the Lord and worship Him in the midst of His people!
- We pray abundant blessings on the First Family, and ask that in 2020, their every physical, emotional and spiritual need would be met and that their hearts would overflow with gratitude for all that the Lord has done, in and through them!
- Asking that every member of their family would come to know Jesus Messiah personally!
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away;
behold, all things have become new.”
2 Corinthians 5:17
