We sing: Freedom Reigns in This Place

Where the spirit of the Lord is…there is freedom! Where the spirit of the Lord is…there is freedom!

Lift Your eyes to heaven…there is freedom! Lift Your eyes to heaven…there is freedom!

Freedom reigns in this place, showers of mercy and grace falling on every face! There is freedom!

If You’re tired and thirsty…there is freedom! If You’re tired and thirsty…there is freedom!

Give Your all to Jesus! Give him all…there is freedom. Give Your all to Jesus…there is freedom!

Freedom reigns in this place, showers of mercy and grace falling on every face! There is freedom!

Jesus reigns in this place, showers of mercy and grace falling on every face! There is freedom!

Freedom reigns in this place, showers of mercy and grace falling on every face! There is freedom!

My Jesus reigns in this place, showers of mercy and grace falling on every face! There is freedom!

The key assignment for the 24/7 National Strategic Prayer Call is to intercede hourly

for the safety and security of our duly elected President, Donald John Trump,

and to pray for that which pertains to our nation!

We pray for his protection, for our First Lady, Melania, and their marriage

and for all the members of their family. We cover them all with the Blood of Jesus.

Pray.

For the restoration of Donald Trump to his rightful office.

In every situation and decision, let our President be led by the Holy Spirit,

so that he learns the truth and acts accordingly, for the good of the nation.

Pray.

For protection, provision, and peace

for all working to expose the fraud and corruption of the 2020 election!

As the SAVE AMERICA movement gains momentum, let those leaders that God anoints and appoints

take their places in the governments of each state and in our nation’s Capitol!

Pray.

Strategic Focus for Wednesday

WELCOME THE KING OF GLORY INTO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!

THE BATTLE TO SAVE AMERICA! – Part 171

The Returning of President Trump to the White House! – Part 54

“Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men,

according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.”

Colossians 2:8

Today, we continue looking into what has been called the “free press”…but as we are learning, that’s not the case!

Author and TV Commentator, Mark Levin, “The Great One,” wrote about NEWS AS POLITICAL AND IDEOLOGICAL ACTIVISM. We are learning more about the media as we read selections from his book, and asking God for deep and permanent cleansing and restoration of the “free press”. Pray.

Selections from Unfreedom of the Press – Part 2

In January 2018, Gallup published its survey of 19,000 U.S. adults and found that 84% of Americans believe the news media have a critical or very important role to play in democracy, particularly in terms of informing the public, yet they don’t see that role being fulfilled. Less than 44% can name an objective news source.” Pray.

Analysts found that “while the majority of Americans clearly recognized the importance of media in a democracy, there were clear differences between Democrats’ and Republicans’ views of media.

  • 54% of Democrats have a very or somewhat favorable opinion of the media, and 68% of Republicans view the news media in an unfavorable light.
  • Democrats largely trust the media and Republicans largely distrust it.
  • The divergence based on political affiliation was also seen in perceptions of bias in the news.

67% of Republicans say they see ‘a great deal’ of political bias in the news, versus only 26% of Democrats.” Pray.

The perceptions revealed in these surveys are realities, and the evidence is overwhelming that journalists as a group reject the admonition that reporters should strive to separate fact from opinion; rather, in varying ways and to different degrees, they embrace the idea of news “interpretation” or news “analysis, gathering, and reporting of news, influenced by and filtered through the progressive mentality. There is much more to the commission’s report; its closing summary is especially noteworthy. “The character of the service required of the American press by the American people differs from the service previously demanded, First, in that it is essential to the operation of the economy and to the government of the Republic. Second, it is a service of greatly increased responsibilities both as to the quantity and the quality of the information required.

  • In terms of quantity, the information about themselves and about their world made available to the American people must be as extensive as the range of their interests and concerns as citizens of the self-governing, industrialized community in the closely integrated modern world.
  • In terms of quality, the information provided must be provided in such a form, and with so scrupulous a regard for the wholeness of the truth and the fairness of its presentation, that the American people may make for themselves, by the exercise of reason and of conscience, the fundamental decisions necessary to the direction of their government and of their lives.Pray.

A more recent effort to define modern journalism was undertaken by former journalists Bill Kovach and Tom Rosenstiel, who claim to have distilled from their search clear principles that journalists agree on, and that citizens have a right to expect. These are the principles that have helped both journalists and the people in self-governing systems to adjust to the demands of an ever more complex world. They are the elements of journalism. The first among them is that the purpose of journalism is to provide people with the information they need to be free and self-governing.”

Their list of the elements of journalism is as follows:

  • Journalism’s first obligation is to the truth.
  • Its first loyalty is to citizens.
  • Its essence is a discipline of verification.
  • Its practitioners must maintain an independence from those they cover.
  • It must serve as an independent monitor of power.
  • It must provide a forum for public criticism and compromise.
  • It must strive to make the significance interesting and relevant.
  • It must keep the news comprehensive and in proportion.
  • Its practitioners have an obligation to exercise their personal conscience.
  • Citizens, too, have rights and responsibilities when it comes to news.
  • Pray.

These elements of journalism appear noncontroversial when taken at face value. But are they, in truth, the working guidelines for most modern newsmen? The great challenge, if not a threat, to journalism today results from the nature of the ownership of news outlets. For the first time in our history, the news increasingly is produced by companies outside journalism. We are facing the possibility that independent news will be replaced by rumor and self-interested commercialism posing as news. If that occurs, we will lose the press as an independent institution, free to monitor the other powerful forces and institutions in Society. For an independent press to survive, journalists must have the clarity and conviction to articulate what an independent press means and whether, as citizens, the rest of us care. Pray.

Is not the greater danger to an independent press “ideology” in the newsroom? Should not ideology be reserved for the opinion-editorial pages of newspapers or the commentary segments of broadcasts? Whatever happened to “professional journalism” and the promise or at least suggest that the press ought to pursue the objective truth in the gathering and reporting of news? Apparently, even the notion of objectivity in reporting is subject to dispute and debate. In the early 1920s, as the Progressive Era began to take hold, the “scientific” approach to journalism—with the press being held to certain professional standards and processes—spread through newsrooms, as it spread through government. It was a case of seeing not what was, but what men wished to seeand the progressive approach was projected onto most things onto the profession of journalism and the press generally. Pray.

In the nineteenth century, journalists talked about “realism,” the idea that if reporters simply dug out the facts and ordered them together, the truth would reveal itself rather naturally. It coincided with what journalists called the “inverted pyramid” in which a journalist lines the facts up from the most important to the least important, thinking it helps audiences understand things naturally.” But “good intentions” and “honest efforts” are not enough. An objective method and standard for vetting news is unlikely to occur in a newsroom populated by ideologues and party partisans. It is apparent, if not obvious, that news outlets and journalists are overwhelmingly progressive in their thinking and attitudes and share the ideological mindset characteristic of the present-day Democratic Party—the same progressive mindset that has devoured so many of the nation’s cultural and societal institutions during the last century. Pray.

In Rediscovering Americanism: And the Tyranny of Progressivism, Mark Levin explains at length how the progressive political views of journalists and media outlets distort the natural views of Americans

  • It “prevents us from seeing the world as it actually is. Instead, we see only a distorted version of it.
  • We see the world through a glass that magnifies the facts that liberals want us to see and shrinks the facts that conservatives want us to see.
  • The metaphoric glass affects not just what we see, but how we think. Media bias really does make us more liberal.
  • Perhaps worst of all, media bias feeds on itself. That is, the bias makes us more liberal, which makes us less able to detect the bias, which allows the media to get away with more bias, which makes us even more liberal, and so on.” Pray.

US newsrooms are extremely one-sided…

  • The first-order problem of an unbalanced newsroom is the simple fact that if you read a newspaper article or watch a television news clip, then almost surely it will have been written or produced by a liberal.
  • A second-order problem may be worse: the minority marginalization principle, in which members of the majority group sometimes treat members of the minority group as if they don’t exist. When they do remember that the minority group exists, they sometimes treat the members as if they are mildly evil or subhuman.”
  • Another effect is the “extremism-redefined principle,” in which the terms ‘mainstream’ and ‘extreme’ take on new meaning within the group. When the group is very liberal, mainstream Democratic positions begin to be considered centrist, and positions that would normally be considered extremely left-wing become commonplace. Such a bias that “used to be called ‘pack journalism” or ‘group think.’ It is the storyline that the press corps en masse is telling or repeating. A modern term for it is the master narrative. These master narratives can become a kind of trap as the journalist picks facts that illustrate a master narrative and ignores other facts.” Pray.

We pray:

  • For a sweeping purge and cleansing of the media to take place, opening doors for those who will report TRUTHFULLY to the American people, and let their consciences determine how they respond! Pray.
  • For the upcoming midterm elections, that conservative, patriotic, candidates will be elected to office and take their places, willing to fight for critical issues and to rectify the fraud that took place in the 2020 election! Pray.
  • For President Trump: guard, guide and govern his every word and action; protect him from all enemies, without and within; help him discern rightly about counsel given by those who advise him. Pray.
  • For all who are “standing in the gap” with our President, engaging in this BATTLE TO SAVE AMERICA, and rejecting the usurper and those pulling his strings in this faux administration. Pray.
  • For our elected officials to be willing to fight to rectify the fraud that took place in the 2020 election! Pray.
  • Protect and strengthen our 24/7 family and bring in new intercessors who are called to this assignment with us, to pray for our President and our beloved nation! Pray.
