Strategic Focus for Friday
WELCOME THE KING OF GLORY INTO THE UNITED STATES
Franklin Graham “DECISION AMERICA” Northeast Tour – “AFTERGLOW”
“Then He said to them, ‘The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few;
therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.’”
Luke 10:2
For the past two weeks, the Lord of the harvest has sent one of His choice servants, Franklin Graham, to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a series of one-night rallies in seven cities of the Northeast: Portland, ME, Burlington, VT, Manchester, NH, Springfield, MA, East Providence, RI, Bridgeport, CT, and Syracuse, NY. Each of those nights, believers joined Franklin, and entered the harvest fields together, coming from area churches who have been praying for months that the Holy Spirit will soften hearts and draw new believers to Him. At every stop along this Decision America Northeast Tour, Franklin called the lost and those who are far from God to repentance and faith, and prayed for the families and churches in each community. He boldly told his listeners about Jesus, sharing his own experience of accepting Christ into his life in his 20’s when he said: “Jesus, if you can just take the broken pieces of my life and put it together, you can have it.”
Long before the announcement of the seven-city evangelistic tour, thousands of people from nearly 100 congregations across Bridgeport, CT had already been joining together annually for worship, evangelism and prayer. Setting aside differences in doctrine, culture and tradition, they focus on one thing they all agree on—the radical impact prayer could have on their community. What a wondrous work is happening as they unite in HIM! They realized what Pew Research has indicated: that more than half of adults across New England seldom or never read Scripture and over 40% of them didn’t believe the Bible is the Word of God.
Throughout this Decision America Tour, Franklin has expressed his concern about that, and for the future generations and the spiritual condition of the world they will grow up in. With all the colleges in New England, young faces were common in the crowd. At one stop there were 17 teenagers from a nearby church. One 18-year-old said: “My Grandma told me about the Decision America Tour and I told all my friends. Our younger generation is falling away and events like this are more important now than ever…this country has lost its morality, so bringing people back to the Word of God – and what it means to be a Christian is so crucial.”
Some of our 24/7 family were able to join in “on-site” intercession for this Tour, while the rest of us prayed corporately “off-site” on the 24/7 National Strategic Prayer Call! What an honor and privilege it has been to have participated in undergirding this initiative! We, of the 24/7 NSPC, thank Cindy Scott, (National Prayer Coordinator for the “Decision America Tour” and the Billy Graham Evangelical Association) for inviting us to join in this effort and look toward the day that we will come together with NE intercessors to Welcome the KING OF GLORY into that part of our nation!
We pray:
- Lord, “how beautiful is the Body of Christ!” Thank You for allowing us to participate together on-site and off-site, with others who are about the work of the Kingdom!
- In gratitude for God’s Word being deposited into good “soil”. May it bring forth a harvest of souls, a “bumper crop” from those who heard the Gospel – the GOOD NEWS – preached during this Tour!
- May souls who were touched be the “seedbed” for the revival that will take place in the coming days!
The following are excerpts from what Franklin shared while many listened intently.
We invite participants to pray into each one of these regarding the coming harvest!
Ephesians 2:8 declares,
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.”
Pray
“Religion is not enough,” Franklin Graham said.
“Religion cannot save you. There’s lots of religions in this world, but there’s only one Jesus.
There’s only one Gospel.”
“Jesus healed the sick, cured the blind and brought the dead back to life. He’s still doing miracles today,
and He loves you. Ask Him into your heart and receive His peace and salvation.”
Pray
With the sun setting behind them, those listening to Franklin’s message were faced with some of life’s most important questions. “Where are you before God? How does He see you? Are you forgiven?”
Franklin asked the crowd. “If you were to die tonight, would He welcome you or will He reject you?”
Pray
“Outside of Jesus, there’s no hope,” Franklin said. “Jesus is able to discern your heart here tonight. He sees you, he knows everything about you. Jesus knows where you are in your life.”
Pray
“There’s pleasure in sin for a short time,” Franklin said. “Many of you … are going in the wrong direction.
When you come to Christ, don’t look back at your old life.”
When dozens of men, women and children stood up at Franklin’s invitation,
it appeared as though many people in Portland were ready for a fresh start in Christ.
Pray
Preaching from Luke 18, Franklin talked about Zacchaeus,
the chief tax collector who didn’t let his short stature get in the way of him meeting Jesus.
“Zacchaeus wanted to come to Christ. He wanted to see Jesus. You can, too,” Franklin said.
Pray
“There was a man in the Bible who had zero hope,” Franklin told the crowd. “Maybe you feel like that right now.” Sharing the story of how blind Bartimaeus was healed by his faith in Jesus in Mark 10:46-5.
Pray
There were serious moments as Franklin shared from Luke 17: 26-30, where Jesus spoke about the destruction of the ancient city of Sodom. These are Jesus’ words:
“Just as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of Man.
They were eating and drinking and marrying and being given in marriage,
until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.
Likewise, just as it was in the days of Lot—they were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building, but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all—so will it be on the day when the Son of Man is revealed.”
Pray
Franklin didn’t mince words when he spoke about God’s impending judgment of the earth. But he was just as clear about the Good News of Jesus Christ—that He loves the world and is ready to forgive the sins of anyone who will turn to Him as Lord and Savior.
Pray
Rain was in the forecast every night of the Decision America Northeast Tour, but it did not hinder any of the events. Dark clouds loomed overhead one of the nights as Franklin took the stage.
“All day long I’ve been watching that radar,” Franklin said, commenting on how storm after storm seemed to be coming through. Several colorful umbrellas popped open as a few raindrops fell from the sky.
Franklin continued, “People have prayed. Even if we get a little sprinkle, I’m not leaving.
God’s brought us here tonight.” Counting the rain as a sign of God’s blessing, he shared the Word of God.
Pray
One of Franklin’s messages drew from 2 Kings 21 which describes a young king who turned to idols instead of the Lord. Franklin boldly asked those in the assembled crowd:
“Have you turned your back on God? Have you been shaking your fist in His face?”
Pray
“This is the most important decision of your life,” Franklin Graham shared from the stage as many people stood to their feet and raised their hands to make public declarations for Jesus Christ. “Remember, I told you God loves you. He does, and He will forgive you tonight.
But you’ve got to come to Him through Christ. Will you receive Christ tonight?”
Pray
“No matter how much freedom one has on earth, there are consequences for sin. True freedom only comes through Jesus Christ.” John 8:36 says, ‘Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”
Pray
After sharing the Gospel, Franklin gave attendees a chance to choose to follow Jesus.
“Just stand,” he said, assuring them that God would honor their public decision.
Many did stand, and some made a new friend in the process—connecting with a prayer volunteer who would explain more about the decision they just made and keep them in prayer.
Pray
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another:
just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.
By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
John 13:34-35
We pray:
- Father, thank You for this Decision America Northeast Tour, for Franklin Graham and that the ministry that took place in the Northeastern USA will bear much fruit.
- Let the pathway be cleared for You to be WELCOMED IN AS THE KING OF GLORY there very soon! HalleluYah!

Specific Prayer Topic for Today
Praying for our Supreme Court and the Judicial System
An anti-religious group is suing a Texas judge for opening prayer — for the second time. The Freedom From Religion Foundation – FFRF (from Wisconsin) charges that the practice violates the Establishment Clause of the Constitution and is suing Montgomery County Judge Wayne Mack, a Justice of the Peace for a precinct about 50 miles north of Houston, for an opening ceremony that includes pledges and prayer. The suit was filed on behalf of a “non-religious” lawyer, (using the pseudonym John Roe in the suit), who argues he “feels pressured to bow his head during the prayer and stay in the room for fear that refusing to do so or leaving might impact the outcome of his clients’ case”. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton issued an opinion upholding Mack’s pre-court prayer ceremony, stating that the judge was following legal precedent and complying with the Constitution. First Liberty attorney Hiram Sasser, defending Mack, said: “It’s ridiculous that a group from Wisconsin would continue to fight invocations similar to those the Supreme Court of the United States has twice ruled are constitutional. Judge Mack already defeated the FFRF once. We look forward to defending Judge Mack and helping him win yet again in the face of this blatant harassment.” The Supreme Court has upheld that government entities can include prayer in two separate cases.
We pray:
- In gratitude for those like Hiram Sasser and Mat Staver who defend Christian values and standards in the courts of this land! We pray for First Liberty, Liberty Counsel, The Justice Foundation and the American Center for Law and Justice, and all those who CHAMPION justice and liberty on our behalf!
