“A CALL TO THE WALL…ONE NATION UNDER GOD”

1-712-770-4340   Code:  543555 #  (Ongoing call…24 hours a day!)

We begin our hour by praising and giving thanks to God!

“Be still, and know that I am God.

I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth.

The Lord of hosts is with us.  The God of Jacob is our refuge.”

Psalm 46:10-11

We singStill

Hide me now under Your wings, cover me within Your mighty hand.

When the oceans rise and thunders roar, I will soar with You above the storm.

Father,  You are King over the flood…I will be still and know You are God!

Find rest my soul in Christ alone. Know His power in quietness and trust.

When the oceans rise and thunders roar, I will soar with You above the storm.

Father,  You are King over the flood…I will be still and know You are God!

When the oceans rise and thunders roar, I will soar with You above the storm.

Father,  You are King over the flood…I will be still and know You are God!

I will be still and know You are God!

Strategic Focus for Wednesday

WELCOME THE KING OF GLORY INTO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!

The Battle Spreads Throughout the Nation! KADIMA! – Part 8

For thus says the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel:

“In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and confidence shall be your strength.”

Isaiah 30:15

“These are the times that try men’s souls”...the opening words from The American Crisis, which is a collection of articles written by Thomas Paine, 18th century Enlightenment philosopher and author.  When this phrase appeared in the pages of the Pennsylvania Journal for the first time, General George Washington’s troops were encamped at McKonkey’s Ferry on the Delaware River opposite Trenton, New Jersey. They had suffered humiliating defeats and lost New York City to British troops that August. Then, between September and December, 11,000 American volunteers gave up the fight and returned to their families. Washington could foresee the destiny of a rebellion without an army if the rest of his men returned home when their service contracts expired on December 31st. He knew that without an upswing in morale and a significant victory, the American Revolution would come to a swift and humiliating end.

Thomas Paine was similarly astute. He wrote essays arguing for Independence from England, giving his ongoing support for an independent and self-governing America through the many severe crises of the Revolutionary War.  His publication, Common Sense, was the clarion call that began the revolution.  As Washington’s troops retreated from New York through New Jersey, Paine again rose to the challenge of literary warfare. With American Crisis, he delivered the words that would salvage the revolution.

When Washington commanded that the freshly printed pamphlet be read aloud to his dispirited men at Valley Forge, the rousing prose had its intended effect. Reciting Paine’s impassioned words, the beleaguered troops mustered their remaining hopes for victory and crossed the icy Delaware River to defeat hung-over Hessians on Christmas night. With victory in New Jersey, they won not only two battles, but also the love and thanks of all Americans!

We pray:

  • Father, we thank you for those, like Thomas Paine, that You raised up to speak life, offer encouragement and exhort our leaders and people, strengthening them at critical moments in our nation’s history. May we of the 24/7 NSPC be among those who will encourage our beloved President at “such a time as this.” Pray.
  • Lord, we rejoice in and honor the true history of this nation, and thank You that, from our inception, You have guided, comforted and renewed us so that we might accomplish your purpose for us in the end times!  Pray.

To “catch the flavor” of Paine’s work, let’s read and pray through a few excerpts from Chapter I of The American Crisis – written on December 23, 1776. This is the piece that inspired Washington’s troops on to victory. As we pray, reflect on the parallels with what we are facing in our nation today.

“These are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. Pray.

What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives everything its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as freedom should not be highly rated. I have as little superstition in me as any man living, but my secret opinion has ever been, and still is, that God Almighty will not give up a people to military destruction, or leave them unsupportedly to perish, who have so earnestly and so repeatedly sought to avoid the calamities of war, by every decent method which wisdom could invent. Pray.

Neither have I so much of the infidel in me, as to suppose that He has relinquished the government of the world, and given us up to the care of devils; and I cannot see on what grounds the king of Britain can look up to heaven for help against us: a common murderer, a highwayman, or a house-breaker, has as good a pretence as he. Pray.

‘Tis surprising to see how rapidly a panic will sometimes run through a country. All nations and ages have been subject to them… Yet panics, in some cases, have their uses; they produce as much good as hurt. Their duration is always short; the mind soon grows through them, and acquires a firmer habit than before. But their peculiar advantage is, that they are the touchstones of sincerity and hypocrisy, and bring things and men to light, which might otherwise have lain forever undiscovered. In fact, they have the same effect on secret traitors…and sift out the hidden thoughts of man, and hold them up in public to the world. Pray.

Both officers and men, though greatly harassed and fatigued, frequently without rest, covering, or provision, the inevitable consequences of a long retreat, bore it with a manly and martial spirit. All their wishes centred in one, which was, that the country would turn out and help them to drive the enemy back. I thank God, that I fear not. I see no real cause for fear. The sign of fear was not seen in our campBy perseverance and fortitude we have the prospect of a glorious issuethe present winter is worth an age, if rightly employed; but, if lost or neglected, the whole continent will partake of the evil; and there is no punishment that man does not deserve, be he who, or what, or where he will, that may be the means of sacrificing a season so precious and useful. Pray.

We pray:

  • These are trying times, Lord, yet we know that You will never give us more than we can bear, and with Your help,  we will not only endure but we will triumph. Pray.
  • That the tyrannical forces of darkness, that think they have an upper hand now, will find themselves defeated as righteousness and justice triumph in this nation. Pray.
  • That we will hold firm to our conviction that God will not give up on this nation… and we will not give up on Him.  Pray.
  • That as others succumb to panic over issues such as covid, we will remain fearlessly grounded in our faith, praying and pushing the enemy back as we follow our King, and advance on all fronts. KADIMA! Pray.

Let us remember the words of our opening song, to “find rest for our souls in Christ alone”…as we “know His power in quietness and trust.” Let us pray into these verses for our President, ourselves and our nation!

“The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.”

Exodus 14:14

Pray.

Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him;

do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.”

Psalm 37:7

Pray.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and mountains be carried into the midst of the sea…

Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!

The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah”.

Psalm 46:1-2, 10-11

Pray.

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving,

let your requests be made known to God;  and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,

will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:6-7

Pray.

We pray:

  • Thank you for your peace, Lord, that passes all understanding. We receive it and we rest in it. Pray.
  • Help us to be still, and to know that You are sovereignly moving on our behalf in all areas of concern. We trust in You. Pray.
  • For the next assignment:
    • For the letter we have sent to President Trump to reach him speedily and be responded to in the affirmative. Pray.
    • For an “appointed place” and an “appointed time” to meet and pray with  President Trump! Pray.
