After taking communion together every hour during the time that our President was abroad, and having given thanks for his safe return, we paused on Monday (MEMORIAL DAY) to celebrate, honor and remember those who gave their lives in defense of this nation and the cause of freedom.
Today, we turn our focus to an arena where dishonoring has become the norm – the US MEDIA. As we intercede for those trapped in the darkness of liberalism, socialism and secular humanism, we ask that their minds be set free to find the respect for and give appropriate honor and support to President Trump, in his position as the leader of our nation and the free world!

Truth in Media

Has secular media / FAKE NEWS become such a part of our mental and spiritual landscape that we do not recognize the impact it is having on our nation? Are we afraid its powerful influence is too big to overcome?
Today, as we look at TRUTH in MEDIA, we will see how knowing his God and trusting in His Word enabled David this amazing victory over Goliath and Israel’s ultimate defeat of the Philistine army.
All of us face fear at one time or another. It has been said that many Christians never achieve their maximum potential because they never conquer the things they fear the most. In 1 Samuel 17, we see how David was not afraid to confront “giants” when they opposed God and His people.
Goliath’s greatest weapon was not his size or strength. King Saul’s army hadn’t gone near enough to test the giant’s military prowess. They were sitting on the hillside frightened, discouraged, and on the verge of defeat, simply because of the giant Goliath’s BIG mouth!
David had little, if any, experience on the battlefield, but he had developed some faith-filled strategies in the school of prayer and worship. He didn’t know much about Goliath, but he had become well acquainted with the LORD of hosts.
God’s servant confronted the taunting Philistine in the name of and with the power of God Almighty and with a declaration of truth. Then the shepherd boy slung a stone, striking Goliath in the forehead, causing him to fall face down on the ground.
· NOTE: the frontal lobe of the brain is the “control panel” of our personality and our ability to communicate.
The stone killed the Philistine, but David didn’t stop there. He used the opposition’s sword to finish the job…to cut off Goliath’s head, showing God’s authority over the mind. Goliath would never taunt God’s people or defy the Holy One of Israel ever again!
We, too, must be mastered by our Lord, and not by presumptuous giants! Let’s consider effective prayer strategies that we can use against “the giant of media”.
“For they mouth empty, boastful words and, by appealing to the lustful desires of sinful human nature,
they entice people who are just escaping from those who live in error. They promise them freedom,
while they themselves are slaves of depravity—for a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him.”
2 Peter 2:18-19
Points for Prayer:
· That God will position His servants in the media and empower them to walk in integrity and humility.
o Pray they will be filled with knowledge, wisdom and understanding that comes from God.
o Pray they will not use their words carelessly but their tongues will bring forth life.
· That deception, ungodly philosophies, and Muslim influence in our media will be exposed and not allowed to infiltrate and infect our society. Decree and declare that the light of Truth will dispel the darkness.
· That God pours out His Spirit upon the leaders in the media and put His words in their mouths.
· That God-called media leaders will have a holy boldness and fearless expose the truth about the Council on American-Islamic Relations, Muslim terrorism, and jihadist threats to our government.
· Pray that God will strategically position heralds of peace, who will bring good news and proclaim salvation to the nations
As we continue to pray for truth in MEDIA in the days ahead, we thank God for hearing and answering us!
